Let's have a look if it is possible to add images to this blog article.

In general mate in one exercises are rather easy, but they are also excellent material to become aware of all the mating patterns.

A lot of combinations in a real chess game involve a mating pattern especially when sacrifices are involved.

An example of such a mate in one problem (taken from a real game) is given in te next diagram.
