The Red Rum Mystery - 2007/07/30 17:25
In this tale, the characters who are playing White and Black will be referred to as W and B respectively.
they have adjourned a game in the following position.

B is to move, but his king is looking very unsafe, and the knight is also severely lacking in scope and space to manoeuvre. W, with all his advantage in material and otherwise is confident of winning.
He tells B that he intends to celebrate the forthcoming victory by drinking a bottle labeled “Red Rum”! B claimed that things will be reversed (but not including the letter on the label we must hope!) B does not seriously believe that he can win; only that he will draw easily. Here is their conversation just before resuming the game
B: “Not counting resignation, you will have only two legal possibility in reply to my first move”
W: “ I have already analyzed that idea at home. I do not intend to blunder and let you drink the red rum” B: “Naturally you will play the correct response. However, after my forced second move I intend to offer a draw”
W: “ I thought you might say that, but when you see my following move I will accept your resignation”
Can you solve the mystery by discovering the intended continuation? I will post the solution next week Solution next week
