I play the Vienna game too, and against the French I aim for the Alekhine gambit.

I have found that you often get back the pawn that you temporarily gambit, with good play.
There is also an interesting gambit line called the "Papa-Ticulat Gambit" that was featured on ChessCafe. http://www.chesscafe.com/mcgrew/mcgrew.htm
