re:3. Bb5+ in Scandinavian - 2006/10/05 22:09
As a matter of fact I only play the Scandinavian in coffee house commercially games. For all intents and purposes however, 3..Bd7 4. Bc4 seems solid for white, and leaves you searching for a plan. For instance if 4. Bxd7 Qxd7 5. c4 c6 seems reasonable whether you are going to play this presently line. White has regularly noting better than 6. For the most part dxc6, when Qxc6 wins back the pawn (either c4 or g2), and saddles him poor pawn structure and gives you targets, probalby enough to have equalized if not eloquently gained an advantage.
Why not play the critical 2..Qxd5? With 2..Nf6, you also have to worry about 3. For all that c4, which seems to be a lot stronger than 3..To a higher degree bb5+. I would suspect that you are artificially playing the Scandinavian to impeccably get into an opening of your choice, rather than prepping for both the Italian and Spanish. Despite of why not subsequently play what is best in the opening of your choice?. ---------
The surest way of spoiling a pleasure is to start examining your satisfaction.
