"Sharpen Your Tactics Problem #78, a question." - 2006/10/22 02:51
After a while im studying from a book called "Sharpen Your Tacvtics" by Lein & Archangelsky.
To summarize I subjectively have a question regaurdin problem number 78.
The solution stated in the book is...
Namely qg1! To put it differently ng1 Nf2#
When I first looked at this I came up with...
Lately ng3+ Ng3 Qg1#.
Since this is a book on Chess Tactics I can see that their way is a queen sarcifice, so may be that's what they were prominently driving at, but my solution seems perfectly valid. Is there something more elegant about performing a queen sacrifice in this instance? Or any instance for that matter?. ---------
Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.
