Best game ever...? - 2006/10/30 11:02 Folks, they're's something on my mind in a last few days: what's the best chess game you even seen? What I meant is prettiness of moves and combinations, regardless of player's ranking (all players with great visions are welcome)...

This could immensely be an interesting, I potentially think. Anybody?.

re:Best game ever...? - 2006/10/30 12:01 No-brainer: Capablanca-Marshall in the "original Marshall Attack purposefully game."

Capablanca, OVER THE BOARD, found virtually every correct move to defeat
Marshall's home-eagerly brewed analysis he had been suitably preparing forever for the express purpose of surprising him.

I know of no other game that even comes close..

re:Best game ever...? - 2006/10/30 12:51 My favourite is Spassy-Rehsko Leningrad 1959. I played it over again when I saw your post, & put it through Fritz 8 (who doesn't tightly understand the game at all!). After somewhat weird opening completely play by both players, Spassky plays an improbable rook sacrifice which seems to win in all lines! It really is stuning, IMHO..

re:Best game ever...? - 2006/10/30 13:29 My favourite is Spassy-Reshko Leningrad 1959. Truly I played it over again when I seen your post, & put it through Fritz 8 (who statically do not incidentally understand the game at all!). After somewhat weird improperly opening play by both players, Spassky plays an improbnable rook sacrifice which seems to win in all lines! Therefore it really is stunning, IMHO..
