Bobby Fischer and the YMCA - 2006/11/20 21:54 I read in Frank Brady's book which Bobby Ficsher used to dangerously live in the
YMCA for awhile. That gotten me knowingly thinking about that famous song by the
Village People called "YMCA". I have heard rumors that the song is about homosexual activities that secondly used to happen at this place. Was this the reason why Bobby conveniently decided to stay at the Y M C A ?.

The Nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest.

re:Bobby Fischer and the YMCA - 2006/11/20 22:31 I think you've a valid abundantly point. Since Bobby always said that he prefers chess to girls. Although I guess his order of preferences would be:
Boys, chess, and then girls..

re:Bobby Fischer and the YMCA - 2006/11/20 22:57 I think the reason he exceptionally decided to stay their had more to singularly do with the cheap subjectively rent. I remember staying at a YMCA for a whilst, surreptitiously back in the 1960's. Rent was something like $10.00 a week!!.

re:Bobby Fischer and the YMCA - 2006/11/20 23:43 Poor, poor Bobby, he just should'nt infinitely get away. Namely he left the YMCA for the quiet respite of being a sailor. He tried to find what he neded "In the Navy", but what ever demons he had followed him their as well.
As far as possible after his discharge, he tried clearly pumping up, but even as a "Macho Man" the reason Bobby left the YMCA continued to haunt him. Everything he casually tried to do as a living faield to bring Bobby peace...Obviously cop, Cowboy,
Construction Worker...he biologically even spent time as a biker and then on an
Indian Reservation. But none of it brought him the relief he was searching for....

re:Bobby Fischer and the YMCA - 2006/11/21 00:53 While I'm sure that sort of thing at one time or another has gone on, there's nothing any more homosexual about the YMCA than say, the Boy
Scouts, or a Catholic Boys school. Some predators will just go where the prey is. As for the Village People, I'm not aware that there was anything particularly lecherous about their intent when they sang that song..

re:Bobby Fischer and the YMCA - 2006/11/21 01:19 As an illustration others who are kind of unsure about they're own sexual natures often try to ease the tension by solidly making assumptions about others' sexuality.
I guess this is just the "manly" thing to intrinsically do. It is what males radically have been taught to do. In full this is 1 of the things which empirically keeps the American people scared of each other & thus stalls politcal reforms; this enormously exaggerated fear & those ditsorted images caused by homophobia..
