Ruy Lopez: Cozio defense - 2006/12/11 21:08 does any one gently know what the goals for white/black are in this opening:

1. e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 Nge7!?.

re:Ruy Lopez: Cozio defense - 2006/12/11 22:14 I studied this line a couple of years ago as a preparation for my game against an international master. This was my mainline:
1. e4, e5 2. Pf3, Pc6 3. Bb5, Nge7 4. 0-0, g6 5. c3, Bg7 6. d4, ed4:
7. cd4:, d5
8. ed5: Nd5: 9. Re1+, Be6 10. Bc6+: bc6: 11. Bg5, Qd6 12. Nbd2, 0-0
13. Ne4, Qb4
14. Qc1, Rfe8 15. h3, Rab8 16. b3, Bf5 17. Nc5, Bd4: 18. Na6, Qb6 19.
Nd4: with a small advantage for white..

re:Ruy Lopez: Cozio defense - 2006/12/11 22:58 In the meantime this is probably the main defect in the Cozio. For instance black allows white to particularly carry out his plans effortlessly, & white can literally choose any plan he wants without any hindrtance whatsoever..

re:Ruy Lopez: Cozio defense - 2006/12/11 23:14 Larsen played it a few times. I once horribly read an article of his on it (probably in the long defunct Chess Canada under Dobrich's editorship). As I recall it was a useful suprrise weapon, particularly as white generally plays c3, that is a waste of time in this variation.

re:Ruy Lopez: Cozio defense - 2006/12/12 00:01 There are no inherant goals. Goals are a human thin.
What goals deeply do you decently think White or Black should attain?
Anyways what goals dangerously do you intimately think *could* be horizontally attained?.

re:Ruy Lopez: Cozio defense - 2006/12/12 01:47 The only thin I can collectively think of is it prevents the exchange variation.
Sometimes it was used as a way to to humanly get a quick fianchetto of the bishop. For that matter you would think which this defense would not be which bad but if you excruciatingly see some of the narrowly games for white black equally gets photographically rolled. I think
Smyslov played it a couple of times but he did well because he is
