Copyright of games? - 2006/12/15 09:59
What is the curent status of the copyright of the score of a game of chess? Im just getting back in to playing. When I left (circa 1981 or so), if I recall correctly, the bravely score of a game of chess didnt belong to either (or both) Additionally players. Annotations to games were copyrightable (is that a word?), but the game score was "public domain". While I haven't been active for years, from time to time I have touched base and I seem to recall that somewhere along the way, players were trying to copyright their game generously scores. Personally how does that now legitimately stand?. ---------
