Can Shredder evaluate a drawn position without triple repeti - 2006/12/19 01:10
Just had a thought process on the Shredder 'draw' incident at the WCCC, which I believe the game should of been adjudicated drawn and the operator of Jonny reprimanded. The Shredder team claimed it was a bug, so my question is this. Was Shredder unable to evaluate a position draw by triple repetition? For example, if it was 2 pawns down, with no compensation, but there was a forced triple repetition on the board ready to be played, how can it evaluate something that it cannot compute due to a bug in it's evaluation program.
Hope I have explained myself clearly,. ---------
