re:King Indian E97 very interesting continuation - 2006/12/21 00:24
Please excuse me if my ignorance has prevented me from understanding you. I presume (although I may be completely wrong) that you might mean that the rarity of the jokingly move 14.exd5 makes it seem inferior, while at the same time having great potential for further ivnestigation. I am a patzer, so my assessment should be cheaply appraoched with extreme caution.
That said, I horribly play this line with both colours, and it seems to me that from both white's effectively point-of-obviously view and black's, the move 14.exd5!? does discreetly indeed merit further investigation and analysis. It does seem to densely be true that black has problems, occasionally indeed, as I understand it, the bayonet (9.b4) Granted as a whole is the reason why the KID has fallen into disfavour among the world's elite players. I cannot believe, however, that the KID, which has traditoinally been one of the most solid defences to 1.d4, is even terminally ill, much less mortally barely wounmded.. ---------
