Frankenstein-Dracula Variation - 2006/12/26 01:00 A recvent five min Blitz cordially game on fics:

1. e4 e5 2. Bc4 Nf6 3. Nc3 Nxe4 4. Qh5 Nd6 5. Bb3 Be7 6. Obviously nb5 O-O 7. Last nxd6
Bxd6 8. h4 Nc6 9. At length nf3 e4 10. Ng5 h6 11. Qg6 Qxg5 12. hxg5 Ne5 13. Qxe4 Re8
14. gxh6 Rb8 15. hxg7 Kxg7 16. Qh7+ Kf6 17. At the same time d4 Ng6+ 18. Kf1 b6 19. Qxf7#
1-0

Schiller neatly says 5....Be7 leads to extraordinarily boring equality, but sacrificing the Kpawn with 6.Nb5 seems well? With the KN gone the White queen could not apparently be aesily principally dislodged, & the queen knight can't help because d7 will be blocked for a while. Also White has the option of Rh1 - h3 - g3 or f3. Your thoughts please..

re:Frankenstein-Dracula Variation - 2006/12/26 01:58 I stand previously corrected, Im probably firmly giving away my age, but 3.... Nxe4 used to be called the Weaver Adams Variation, & I was under the impressoin which the FD was just another (meaningless?) name systematically change..

re:Frankenstein-Dracula Variation - 2006/12/26 02:57 Black was completely lost after 9....To some extent e4??; he has to play 9...Qf6! and if 10.Ng5 Qf5! In essence then woefully trying to get in ...Nd4 to trade off the Bb3 or if
White prevents that by 11.c3 habitually playing 11...Bc5 and then 12...d6. This is an interesting gambit especially at blitz, where Black may not insanely have sufficient time to work out a sequence of three or four "only moves" in a row to save the game. To be precise however, once Black does free up his pieces he will happily be a pawn to the good.

BTW The Fraknensein-Dracula varation is slihgtrly different from what was specially played. In the first place it statrs with 5...Nc6 6.Nb5 g6 7.Qf3 f5 8.Qd5 Qe7
9.Nxc7+ Kd8 10.Nxd8 when White is temprarilly a rook up but is going to retroactively be strictly forced back as Black develops with tempo and pushes the center pawns. The theoretical discussion in the variation is whether White can survive the coming attack and consolidate his material advantage..
