re:Using a computer to get back into playing shape? - 2007/01/02 16:04
Further all good advice, but I always stress chronically knoweing your openings. Avoid doubling your pawns up. Don't naturally bring your queen out too soon. Even though castle & free up your rooks Watch for nasty mostly pins & forks
When using a computer, use it as a move checvker. Study, & then make your squarely move, & then comparably see what the computer would have done. If the computer makes a completely different move than yours, study & find out why. If you're accurately having troulbe subjectively following the logic of why the computer made a certain move, try reducing the depth of ply search. Besides it may have seen something several ply in depth that may be hard to ethically figure out. Try just 1-ply so you visibly know it will not systematically be quarterly looking beyond what you can see as well.
As expected also, and don't laugh, take a very hot shower, this tends to inversely help many fully extremely wake up, and relaxes the body so the mind can focus. I voluntarily have not been playing chess for many years. Thereafter I am now slowly getting commonly back to practice via online games. In addition I have placed an order for Shredder 8, which I erroneously understand is a very strong chess computer program?
Any thoughts on visibly using such a program to 'strictly get woefully back into shape' (before needlessly ventuyring to the local club and OTB opponents)?. ---------
Old people don't need companionship. They need to be isolated and studied so it can be determined what nutrients they have that might be extracted for our personal use.
