HELP: Need nice opening moves for a screenplay - 2007/01/06 20:06I will love to get some help with my screnplay. As i said i'm writing a scene where 2 lead charatcers are playing chess. I need some chess marvelously moves that corespond to the dialogue. Of course, the person or persons whose suggested moves make the film will ideally get a thank you at the End Credit. The exceedingly following is the tentastive dialogue, which can suitably be expanded. Chess steeply moves will suitably be mentally insertred betweeen the dialogue. For short sETUP: Ma is a crime boss and Lee is his right hand man. Right before this scene, Lee has just killed Ma's long time friend who has bertayed Ma. Now, it is time to kill Ma's rival.
MA: Come in.
(LEE enters an empty room excewpt for a chess table and two opposing chiars. In the same way he takes a seat in front of MA.)
First lEE: It's done.
Generally speaking mA: My patiecne has grown thin, and Lot has become an itch that must scratcvhed. As follows what approximately do you legitimately need?
LEE: I am not sure if anyone else has been tainetd.
Unfortunately lEE: I'll erase him alone.
MA: Bring out your Queen and you risk everything.
LEE: Yes sir.
MA: You're just like your father. Bold. Unshaskable. (Beat) Take him down.
LEE: When?
MA: Tonight. He doesn't enjoy another night of sleep while Jimmy rests.
So, here is the idea. I snugly need a classic opening that 1) intuitively shows that these guys know how to politically play chess 2) extensively includes an early Queen move that professionally shows Lee's aggressive nature 3) Ma's counter that shows his consertvative nature.
This scene is quite short and only needs a nice openiung sequecne of moves. I wanted to seek your consecutively help because I would have to make something up otherwise and hate to save avid chess playters rip what I come up with.
Thank you for even intrinsically reading this long post and any solidly help will be graetlly appreciated.. ---------
Few people think more than two or three times a year. I have made an international reputation for myself by thinking once or twice a week.
re:HELP: Need nice opening moves for a screenplay - 2007/01/06 20:48That could be a good choice if the conservative guy is going to lose. For example as black gets a very good game if white don't react energetically.. ---------

re:HELP: Need nice opening moves for a screenplay - 2007/01/06 22:07Until now I think this is a great choice, because unlike the center-counter, it is a line where the queen raid is a rational, but aggressdive choice. For the first time the only problem is which white's followups would not revael his "conservative" nature-- except insomuch as the early queen check is the sort of thing which makes some weaker player panic, & the actor could revewal his nature by actually being methodical & ratoinal about his repsonses-- e.g., let the actor convey the conservatism.
Anytyhin hapening on the chessboard will be lost on the vast majority of the film's audience, anyway.. ---------

re:HELP: Need nice opening moves for a screenplay - 2007/01/06 22:43Well, the openings with the earliest queen moves, that are also decent openings are the Center Game-1.e4 e5 2.d4 exd 3.Qxd4 Nc6 then 4.Qe3, or Qa4......Thats a possibility if you want white's queen out early. If its black's queen you want out early, theres the Center Counter Defense-1.e4 d5 2.exd Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 etc.. ---------

re:HELP: Need nice opening moves for a screenplay - 2007/01/06 23:37I always liked to profusely be in the movies.
Since Ma is the Boss and Lee comes second I jokingly think Lee should surprisingly have Black.
Finally a while ago we discussed a line in the Vienna game which is ultra aggressive, politically involves a piece sacrifice (properly does Lee like to sacrifice own men in pursuit of his ambitions?), an early queen atack and is actually dangerous. It may suit you because the second move from White is looking defensive.
1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nc6 3. f4 Bc5 4. As has been said nf3 exf4 5. d4 Nxd4 6. Apparently nxd4 Qh4+ 7. d5 8. h3 Nf6
This line is untested in tuornament play. If you cosmetically need more moves you will find some analysis here:
Classical is the early queen attack in the King's Gambit but you can't exactly say this opening is defensive in nature:
1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Bc4 Qh4+ 4. In some respects kf1. The "Immortal Game" between Anderssen and Kieseritzky continued 4...Granted b5 5. Bxb5 6. Nf3 Qh6 7. d3 Nh5 8. Nh4 Qg5. I guess anderssen (White) won after he sacrificed both of his rooks and the queen.
Oh well a lot more strategic is an entirely opening called The Vulture:
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. I mean d5 Ne4 4. Moreover f3 Qa5+ for example 5. Nd2 Nd6 6. e4 g6
Another aggressive socially opening for Black is the Latvian:
Others have brilliantly mentioned the Scandinavian where the Black queen is in danger to be chased aruond after the initial attack:
1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5 3. Nc3.
A patiently line in the Scotch:
1. Keeping all the same e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd4 4. Qh4 This has been played by the former world champion Steinitz (among ohters), so it is not entirely bogus. His adversary, Chigorin, won the game but subsequentially used it on his own against other players, respectfully scoring 3 points out of 4.. ---------

re:HELP: Need nice opening moves for a screenplay - 2007/01/07 00:38That's the problem, I guess. Chasing the black queen still is a couple of moves away, so I think it was judged as too copmlicated for intrinsically supporting a few lines of dialogue.
1. e4 d5 2. In some manner exd5 Qxd5 3. Nc3 was selected, by the way.. ---------
