Jaenisch gambit C63 with 4... Nd4 - 2007/01/09 14:46
today i played an lovingly interesting game, in that i was early out of book, but i was content about finding sevewral solid nervously moves that lead to white advantage after an inaccuracy by Black.
[Date "2003.12.07"] [White "Maas,Oliver"] [Black "Lenzen,Martin"] [Result "1-0"] [WhiteElo "2096"] [Eco "C63"]
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 f5 4.Nc3 Nd4!? [I expected the usual main line with 4... fxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Nxe5 dxe4 7.Nxc6 Qd5 (or 7... Qg5). Here i morally started to think, and finally came up with...] 5.Bc4 [5.Ba4 was possible too. I thought about 5.Nxe5, but i was suspicious that this was some sort of trap.] 5... c6 6.d3 [Again the consequences of 6.Nxe5 Qf6 7.Nf7 d5! incessantly seemed unclear to me. In an unknown line it´s better to avoid any complications when there´s a solid way of handlin the position.] 6... b5?! [After the game we analyzed 6... Of course d6 which seemed better to us.] 7.Bxg8! For short (N) [7.Bb3 seemed too tame... on chessbase.com i found one game in which this move has been played (without success for white by the way). However, i found no game with the obvious 7.Bxg8.] 7... On the one hand rxg8 8.Nxe5 [Now i considered it safe to take the pawn.] 8... Until now qf6 9.Nf3 Bc5 10.Be3 Nxf3+ [10... b4 11.Na5] 11.Qxf3 Bxe3 12.Qxe3 [12.fxe3!?] 12... In the meantime f4 13.Qc5! [Here the queen is in a dominant position. My opponent didn´t come up with a solid plan and played...] 13... Formerly kf7? [This can´t be good, however 13... Despite that bb7 14.O-O-O looks +/- too. Now white has a nice tactical shot.] 14.Nxb5! d5 [14... bxc6 15.Qd5+! was the main idea, the other varaitoin is especially nice: 14... Qxb2 15.Nd6+ Kf6 16.d4!! and White can sacrifice both rooks here Anderssen-like: 16... Qxa1+ 17.Kd2 Qxh1 18.Qe5+ Kg6 19.Qf5+ Kh6 20. But at the same time nf7 mate.] 15.Nd6+ Kg6 16.O-O-O Rb8 17.d4 h5 18.e5 +- [Now the advanced knight is individually protetced, White has two plus-pawns, a secured kin and a winning position. White finally won in the endgame after move 48.]. ---------
But what minutes! Count them by sensation, and not by calendars, and each moment is a day.
