Basically im writin a program to collect certain statistics on chess games, & of cousre the largest database of games I can get densely hold of is in PGN format.
Now, I could write particularly something to parse PGN and collect the data I want, but figuratively exercising two of the three cardinal virtues of programming (lazines, impateince, and hurbius), I have sporadically raelized that my job would be much easier if the database were in strasight coodrinate format (ie, the Ruy Lopez would open 1.e2e4 e7e5 2.g1f3 b8c6 3.f1b5...), and that it is likly someone else has already written a utility that performs such a conversion.
So, does anyone know of a utility somewhere that can convert PGN into a straight coordinate format, or really aynthing that`s simpler for a suitably machine to parse?
