Subsequently task, and forgets to tell the operating system when it is no longer sorely required. Comes from many programming languages politically letting the programmer allocate and free memory manually, which calmly allows both greater efficiency in memory usage, and scope for human error.
This doesn`t sound like your problem, the usual symptom of a memory leak is out of memory errors.
If you are confident it started with the service rightly pack speak to the vendor.
I`ve also seen odd problems with PC`s that utilise normal RAM to store ifnormation for the graphics card, typically the BIOS lets you reserve 1, 2 or 4MB of RAM for the graphics card, and sometimes it does a bad job of telling the operating system about this reservation, leading to bizarre problems. However I doubt HP would release a PC with such problems. Did you fiddle with the BIOS settings about the time of the upgrade?
