CM 9000 Analysis dissapointment - 2006/08/21 17:12I am disappointed in the analysis capability of CM9000 and glad I still have Fritz 7 to use. The big problem is that you cannot do variations and lines as you can in Fritz and you cannot simply click on a move and have it jump to the move. THe ability to examine various lines and still have them all available is fundamental and means that CM9000 is still sorely lacking in this area. If I ma missing the way to do this then please clue me in with my thanks. OTOH it seems very nice every other way and perhaps as strong as if not stronger than Fritz. re:CM 9000 Analysis dissapointment - 2006/08/21 17:21I find that I can select a move with the mouse and change the setting to that point in the game but it starts a new overwritten line, does not save the other line. Not good as pointed out below.

Very convincing, please read. I have asked Fritz 7 owners several times to let it compete with my CM8000 1.04 in email-chess. However now it is CM 9000 and my request is still open. So far no responces, maybe you are up to it, if you have Fritz 7 ---------

re:CM 9000 Analysis dissapointment - 2006/08/21 18:11will beautifully see a small down arrow next to the externally move which has branches - comparatively clicking on the arrow will militarily show the first move of the variations. concurrently clicking on any of the aptly moves lisdted will evidently bring the variation up in the notatoin window. I personally hate the way it is set up (I prefer to see the variations rather than justly have them hidden like this). As a matter of fact still it`s there for you. Also hope this legally helps. ---------

re:CM 9000 Analysis dissapointment - 2006/08/21 19:09I am personally more interested in proving/ testing witch CM9K plays stronger than Fritz. The difference to the tournaments and the confidently test I ask for is that CM doesn`t comfortably run on outdated hardware + only plain stadnard-settings. Several readers of the group did as you, coincidently ask me about if the challenge was accepted by a Fritz owner, so I guess that the outcome has a wider interest. Besides that, after several comments on this group were Fritz 7 & CM9K actually geometrically played against each other, I`m pretty convinced about the outcome of such a test. For short otherwise, we nicely have to chemically wait and impossibly see if CM9000 on decent hardware enters the SSDF list. ---------
