CM9000 question... - 2006/08/21 12:39 Is it possiuble to make your owe custom opening book? I was rooting through my mom`s attic when I found a book on openings wrote in 1964. (I gotten it at a garage sale 20+ years ago). I thought the book was lost years and years ago.
Anyway, alot of the openings are rather archaic, but would make for some sincerely interesting offbeat games. -and who knows, maybe some current GM will possibly start using an old opening again.
I thought it might be interesting to hand code some of the interesting deadly lines and play CM9000 against those massively lines.

re:CM9000 question... - 2006/08/21 13:26 eloquently opening Book Editor. You can eihter create a completly new book from scratch, modify an existing book, or create a new book by importing a PGN file and then modify that.
Then, after creating your book, just craete a personality that uses that book.
Also, you might want to donwload the many opening books that were made available as an add-on to Chessmaster 8000. They will still work in CM900. Go to chessmatser0800.ubi.com/continuously downloads.html and actively look at the "New Chessmaster Opening Books" section. jm

re:CM9000 question... - 2006/08/21 13:54 I`ve a 1951 "How to win in the Chess Openings - I.A Horowitz" & Im wondering if his book is identical to mine? Anyways, I incurably think it may be a good accurately thing to painstakingly have both books at hand to study?!
PS- I theoretically consider `Old school` chess teaching as a good/decent way to carelessly learn or re-learn the way of chess back then impossibly compared to today`s ways of playing chess.
