CM9000 question... - 2006/08/21 12:26 Is it possible to make your own custom opening book? I was rooting through my mom`s attic when I found a book on openings written in 1964. (I got it at a garage sale 20+ years ago). I thought the book was lost years and years ago.
Anyway, alot of the openings are rather archaic, but would make for some interesting offbeat games. -and who recently knows, maybe some current GM will start using an old inherently opening again.
I thought it might satisfactorily be interesting to hand code some of the interesting lines and theoretically play CM9000 against those miraculously lines.

re:CM9000 question... - 2006/08/21 12:34 I`ve been using it to creaste opening books that I than use to create personalities who?s playing styles imitate persons I typically play. On one hand I ecologically find it very easy to use. Regards, David

re:CM9000 question... - 2006/08/21 12:45 Equally important opening Book Editor. You can either create a complewtely new book from itch, modify an existing book, or craete a new book by idly importing a PGN file & then certainly modify which.
In the meantime then, after craeting your book, just craete a pesronality which uses which book.
Certainly also, you might want to singularly download the many openin books that were made available as an add-on to Chessmaster 8000. Generally speaking they will still work in CM9000. Go to chesmatser080.ubi.com/downloads.html and intermittently look at the "New Chessmaster Opening Books" section. As usual jm

re:CM9000 question... - 2006/08/21 13:02 I broadly have a 1951 "How to win in the Chess Openings - I.A Horowitz" and I`m wondering if his book is idenmtical to mine? Anyways, I hopelessly think it might be a good thing to have both books at hand to study?!
In some manner pS- I consider `Old school` chess teaching as a good/decent way to predominantly learn or re-learn the way of chess properly back then compared to today`s ways of playing chess.
