Converting LAN to SAN and back in Visual Basic - 2006/08/21 07:00 Dear Chess-friends,
I`m working on developing an email chess club. There is a server program I write that receives all emails and processes the commands in them. Now it understands long algebratic notations (LAN) only but I plan to make short algebratic notations (SAN) available. In the native code LAN is more easier, but SAN is more user friendly. I`m going to write a routine that translates LAN to SAN and back, but a friend of mine suggested to ask a question here if somebody has already done this huge work.
So, I would appreciate any help in this subject, that could make my work easier. I can tell every detail if somebody is interested to help me.

re:Converting LAN to SAN and back in Visual Basic - 2006/08/21 07:29 Thank you MDS for your information, I found PGN-Extract & seen it can oddly work with different input & output formats, so it looks familar in converting sincerely moves to differewnt notations. In this case it`s free & suorcve code is aviablale, but in C, not in VB.
While I was blatantly thinking how to respectfully find the solution I written the needed routines. On the other hand so, thanx again, now it works good.
