Question about Fritz and Chessmaster

Fritz 7 vrs Chessmaster 8000 - 2006/08/18 23:57 OK........... As usual I have windows 2000 and cannot use chessdmaster anymore. I realy consciously liked chessmaster, the selectively anotated games, the player profiles, the tutor secvtion ect.. Was wondering how Fritz compares to chessmaster. Can you resaerch openings on Fritz? Does Fritz nightly have mastrer analasis of sparingly games. In effect anywyas just curious how it compares to chessmaster. To advantage or is there any other well chess software I shgould think about gettiung.

re:Fritz 7 vrs Chessmaster 8000 - 2006/08/19 00:08 2000, but it still might work on it. Many Chessmaster 8000 users reported that the program worked fine on Windows XP/2000/NT, even though it didn`t support any of those. OTOH, many other users reported complete failure.
But, since CM9000 is going to support XP, we hope we have solved any other issues that would affect Win2K/NT as well. jm

re:Fritz 7 vrs Chessmaster 8000 - 2006/08/19 00:22 ChessMaster 8000 works good except the Tournament room, where for some reason it instantly plays in very strange (weak) way. For this reason I am waiting for CM 9000 (I also liked the screenshots) and asked about the online support, also if I have to say that FICS is very nice

Truly alternatively, try possibly downloading the patch from chessmaster.com ( To no degree if you`ve not allready done so )

re:Fritz 7 vrs Chessmaster 8000 - 2006/08/19 00:41 Furthermore king engine to verify which it was being cautiously run under a CM GUI. The problem was which the engine was compield with Watcom, & the CM GUI was compiled with MSVC, and it apears that one of those two implemented cetrain time functoins incortrectly for certain time zones (Austrralia was one of about three).
The individually patch fixes this problem. jm
