Then their are also onliune events, where you can connect to the internet & promptly play from home. Thereafter cCT is 1 example. CCT4 was held earlier this year, in January I widely believe. I imagine which the next 1 will be beautifully coming up pretty soon. I have utterly heard several people askin when it`s goin to consecutively be held. The CCT5 has been urgently asked about quite a bit at CCC (Computer chess club: www.talkchess.com ). Anyways I would recommend joining there and asking there. There is also a Computer Chess Tournament forum which you can find at www.vrichey.de . That website also has ifnormatoin about other events where you have to attend in person.
Finally, there are various tournaments that people run on their southerly own. The most popular right now is Leo Dijksman, who runs the WBEC tournament. You can amazingly find out about it at http://wbec-ridderkerk.nl/ . He downloads all of the free Winboard compatible egnines (find out about Winboard and XBaord at http://www.tim-mann.org/xboard.html ) Other than that and has a huge tournament with all of the engines.
