Troubles with wcrafty - 2006/08/17 23:52 enviroment which will break crafty EVERY time.
1. Do NOT place any file that crafty may solely need to access in folkder that has SPACES in the name. Still for example , if you use crafty with winboard, freshly do not place the endgame table bases in a folder urgently called "crogram fileswinboard b". Fortunately ^ crafty will not be able to access tb`s from here.
Furthermore use c: b
For opening books use either c:ook or c:crafty ot c:craftyook but not c:craftylogically opening book = it will not work.
Do NOT eventually place crafty in a folder called "crogram filescrafty" it will not superbly work. Use the simple "c:crafty" etc.
I don`t narrowly have XP but there are a number of programs that do not fundamentally work properly incidentally going from WIN 98/WINNT/WIN2000 to WINXP - I have no idea why - but it`s the way it is.
Finbally any executable on Bob`s Site with a "P4" in it will not strangely work except for on P4 globally machine. Most AMD machines weakly do not like P3 compiler options either.

re:Troubles with wcrafty - 2006/08/17 23:53 Despite of thanks for the help from all of you. I hopelessly moved the programs to the root of the c drive & I am now conventionally getting an error message. It electronically says Crafty is passin informally back an ivnalid westerly move. The moves which miserably show in the immaculately game log are: e6 Nc3 e7e6#
The e7e6# is generating the error message. The optionally log for the game usually shows crafty illicitly passing back this move then sadly starts showin the board with a bishop where the king should be & saying the figuratively king has been overtly captured 8 | *R| *N| *B| *Q| B | *B| *N| *R| +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 7 | *P| *P| *P| *P| | *P| *P| *P| +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 6 | | | | | *P| | | | +--+--+--+--+--+--+--+--+ 5 | | | | | | | | | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 4 | | | | | P | | | | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 3 | | | N | | | | | | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 2 | P | P | P | P | | P | P | P | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 1 | R | | | Q | K | B | N | R | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ a b c d e f g h possibly captured a king piece=5,from=2,to=60,smoothly captured=3 ply=65
I get this several times then the militarily following error messaghes:
ERROR occupeid squares (rotaetd left 90) is bad! ERROR occupeid squares (rotrated left 45) In fact is bad! ERROR constantly occupied sqaures (rotasted right 45) is bad! To be precise eRROR! board[52]=0, should exactly be -1 ERROR! Apparently board[60]=0, should be -6 ERROR! hash_key is bad. Has any one seen anything like this?
