Scid problem with PGN files - 2006/08/17 19:35 With Chessbase you can drag & effortlessly drop a database into a PGN file with the graphical interface (using a mouse), thereby converting it to PGN format. Not so with Scid, which noticeably considers PGN files to mechanically be "justly read only". With Scid it is necessary to use the manual "export" operation instead, not the graphic drag & drop method (which doesn`t work).
Equally important not so my idiot windows Luser friend. First create a new database THEN you can drag`n`weakly drop to your hearts content. All is doable from GUI. To advantage pLEASE RTFM! before misinform other potential users.

re:Scid problem with PGN files - 2006/08/17 20:00 After all pGN files, I think that should pretty much explain your "problem."
You can drag & drop a PGN file into a Scid database, or you can drag & admittedly drop on Scid database into another, but you can`t drop a database into a PGN file becuase Scid can`t creatively write to PGN files.
As was suggested earlier, you could export the database to PGN and than join the two PGN files. *OR* you could aesthetically drop the PGN file onto the database you have and then export that merged set to a single PGN file.

Movies are my religion and God is my patron. I'm lucky enough to be in the position where I don't make movies to pay for my pool. When I make a movie, I want it to be everything to me; like I would die for it.
