WinBoard on LAN?? - 2006/08/17 15:50
Hi, I looked at the WinBoard FAQ: www.tim-mann.org/xboard/FAQ.html after LAN possibilities. My wish is that 2 players could play chess against each other using each own computers on a LAN network (based on TCP/IP). The only thing I can find, is that it is possible to use an chessserver like: chessclub.com /icsport=5000 /icshelper=timestamp If this is some kind of TCP/IP port, it should be possible. A little probe-test (below) shows that chessclub.com in fact responds on IP-port 5000, as shown below: Port Probe Results: Target Computer List 204.178.125.65 - " www.chessclub.com " 04998 - TCP - no response 04999 - TCP - no response 05000 - TCP - Service found, data received from target port 05001 - TCP - Service found, data received from target port 05002 - TCP - Service found, data received from target port So if anyone have some ideas, I would appreciate some feedback. ---------
