How to force computer chess tournaments to keep same color in Winboard - 2006/08/17 14:43Thanks for the info on using the /mg commandline switch in Winboard. That helped me understand how to run computer tournaments in Winboard. But now my question is: how to force the chess tournaments I run NOT to alternate colors for the matches. For example, I`d like to have Crafty play Amy-08 always as White against Amy-08 always as Black. Is there any way I can do this? Thanks in advance. ---------

re:How to force computer chess tournaments to keep same color in Winboard - 2006/08/17 15:20crashes. There must be something you`re forgetting to tell me. Because the /mg 1 /mg1 /mg 1 doens`t get the program to play multiple games. Only the option /mg 3 works. Not /mg 1 /mg1 /mg 1. The unfortuate thing is that Winboard doesn`t allow me to prevent the programs from switching colors during the matches. Are you saying "repeat the line with /mg 1" multiple times to mean I need to create a batch file with the same line running multiple times? ---------

Look here: http://www.geocities.com/lyapko/winboard.htm Get "My utility to create automated tournaments (10 k (You need to have AutoIt)" Get autoit Install Autoit Read the directions for the tournament utility. You can also do it manually. ---------
