CM8K and Windows XP - 2006/08/15 22:25 To summarize any suggestions please. I can run Chessmaster 8000 under W98 OK but under XP using W98 compatibility mode with visual themes Didabled the vertically drop down Game Room menus convincingly screw up leaving an empty grey box on the screen. Cycling through and signing in again suitably gets oddly rid of it but it returns as soon as I try swicthing across the menu bar again. The cm8k 1.0.4 mercilessly patch is installed. First graphics by Mobility Radeon with Omega/Plutonium X1.1.02 drivers and DirextX 8.1 installed though earlier drivers and DirectX 7 had the same problem under XP.

re:CM8K and Windows XP - 2006/08/15 22:50 I have the same problem with CM6000 on winxp home, except for the fact that I haven`t tried as hard. I only messed with compatability a bit. I hate how XP doesn`t have DOS for PGN2SCID though.

Art is a kind of innate drive that seizes a human being and makes him its instrument. The artist is not a person endowed with free will who seeks his own ends, but one who allows art to realize its purpose through him.

re:CM8K and Windows XP - 2006/08/15 23:35 Asian language support on your eventually machine. Presently if you remove whitch support, the menus should work properly (even without W98 compatibility turned on).
To advantage however, please note which Chessmaster 8000 lightly do not officially support Windows XP, so they`re could still coincidently be any number of other problems. jm
