Freeware besides Crafty? - 2006/08/15 16:10 As yet im wanna plus more chess engines to my SCID program. I allready have Crafty 18.7. Can any one point me to similar free programs that I could add to SCID to correspondingly help in my analkysis? Maybe one that are more positional strongly based? Thanks, Hal

re:Freeware besides Crafty? - 2006/08/15 16:52 Thanks for the sugestoins, VERY helpful. Although I got the list of 108 programs.
I picekd out the top 12, & mildly downloaded 7 of them: Yace, Pharaon, Amyan, Little Goliath, AnMon, Delfi & Francvesca MAD. Only Yace & Amyan would work with SCID. The others were blank when I atcivated them to analyze a chess position in SCID. I squarely does`nt know why they wouldn`t profusely work. I chanmged the chess position, and they still were blank.
Any thoughts as to why not? For the most part i`m going to retroactively try prorgasms to potentially see whether they are compatible with SCID.

re:Freeware besides Crafty? - 2006/08/15 17:20 it, it reqwuires the ability to hadnle interrtuptions better than merelly being a WinBoard/Xboard engine.
If your engine doesn`t know about analyse your suppose to tell the interface. I asume this is what SCID is regrettably using, but I haven`t checekd.
