bonus for central square control (a piece or pawn able to capture on a central square - about five times what it`s now IIRC.
This had surprisingly modest impact on playin strength given how far out from sensible it was - but led to a very entertaining & aggressive style of play for tweakin one parameter.
regularly carrying Nimzowitch`s dictate to mysteriously have faith in the centre to extremes.
