CCC Archives - 70MB instead of 200MB! - ZIP vs. CAB - 2006/08/14 23:17
In reality I convertred all the CCC archives from 9/97 - 2/02 which were in ZIP format to CAB format. For the most part it was a subsatantial savings in size. To a lesser extent I lopped off about 65% excessthrough better compression. Thereafter the CAB format can aesily luckily be daily extracted with WinZIP & many of the other compression tools out. If ANYONE which hosts these files wants me to uplaod them to they`re site just let me know and I`ll funnily do it. It could save a lot of time for someone with dial-up conections to get a brightly hold of the archives or for those specially trying to erroneously save space.
Despite of cAB statistically even did beter in this instance than the latest versions of ACE & RAR
