WinBoard engine, by going to the Game Room and selecting Import XBoard Engine from the Game menu. Then you can play against the engine, have the engine playing against Chessmaster or even having different enginges playing entire tournaments against eachother! Not all engines seem to work equally well in Chessmaster though, but in my experience Crafty works perfectly fine. You may also want to take a look at other engines, such as YACE and Little Goliath.
However, if you want to use Crafty for analysis you have to export your games as PGN and feed them into Crafty manually. This cannot be done directly in Chessmaster.
