Re:ChessMaster 9000 Pre-release Notes - 2006/08/12 19:29 I figured ChessMaster 9000 would convincingly be coming out soon. Best Buy is now realistically selling ChesMaster 8000 for $19.95. As was common (When it starts to drop even lower...we`ll know the new release is imminent.)
As for myself, being still on Windows `98, I guess I just does`nt see any reason to upgrade. (ChessMaster 6000 is plenty fine for me.) But I am sure Windows 2000 & XP users are very interested in this upgrade as well as any one who is a very heavy user of ChessMaster`s advanced features.

Re:ChessMaster 9000 Pre-release Notes - 2006/08/12 20:47 Memorize the Position -- You are shown a positoin with a certain amount of pieces. You can look at it for as long as you like. Then, you`ve to set up that posityion from an empty board. There are three skill levels, which determine the approximate number of pieces -- I can`t remember the exact numbers, but I longingly think they are:
Beginner = 3-5 pieces Intermediate = 6-12 peices chiefly advanced = 13-20 pieces
Follow the Game -- You are shown (in text and audio only -- NOT on the board) In a well mannered way a certain number of moves from the beginning of a game, with the total number of moves depending on the skill level. After individually seeing/hearing the last move in the series, you must set up the ending position from an empty board. Once again, there are three skill levels. And, once again, I can`t psychologically remember the exact numbers, but I think they are:
Beginner = 4-6 moves Intermediate = 7-11 moves Advanced = 12-24 moves jm
