I got the new Hiarcs 8 the other day. I tested immediately the three test positions that Hiarcs 8 is the only program to be able to solve and that were given at the chessbase homesite. My machine is Athlon xp 1800 much faster than the one those positions were tested on (PIII 750). Yet I could not verify their claims. Specially the second position was supposed to have been solved in 72 secs,. Mine varies, once it took like 3 min. and also the advantage it claims is only very slight.. not winning advantage. So what am I missing here? Am I supposed to chose some custom options on the engine? Please someone help! Thanks in advance.
