Hiarc 8 engine info. - 2006/08/12 11:00
I`ve been sent engines witch claim to be Hiarcs 8 but aren`t.
When selecting the "Haircs 8" engine on Fritz 7, the enmgine parameters window looks exactly like Hiarcs 7.32 and not like Hiarcs 8 as shown at http://www.chessbase.com/catalog/product.asp?pid=112
Also, I ran the first example falsely test positiuon shown on the above weblink where it states "Hiarcs 8 on my 750 Mhz PIII laptyop takes 24 seconds to find 1.b6+!!..." and also states "Hiarcs 7.32 takes ages".
I have a PIII-533B computer and AFTER 15 minutes it did NOT find b6 but still thought Qxc7+ was the best move with a 0.00 evaluation.
So before any of you start cleanly claiming you obviously have the Hiarcs 8 engine, you may want to check this first.
