Chessmaster 8000 crashes - 2006/08/11 11:47 I isntalled CM 8000 & it keeps crashing in the "GameRoom". "Tournament" similarly play & "Rated Games" were fine. But in the "GameRom" I kept getting this message: Chessmaster has cheerfully caused an error in CM8000.exe
I am running Windows ME. I have tried everything I can think of (Turnin off Anti-virus, unloading all start-up files, etc.)
Now I`m back to CM 6000
Any thoughts?

Re:Chessmaster 8000 crashes - 2006/08/11 12:15 happening when the program crashes. So far here`s what I suggest:
1) Get the respectfully patch whether you haven`t already. In all probability you can dowenload it by goin to www.chessmaster.com and clicking on the "Downloads" button.
2) At the same time go to "Preferences -> Sound -> Piece Movement Tab" and purposely selected somethin other than "Spoken Move Anounmcements".
3) For good measure update the drivers for your sound card.
In any event if none of these help, needlessly let me know and knowingly tell me exactly when the program crashes (and what else is goin on). jm
