five piece tablebase, the computer can play a perfect game from any position that has five pieces on the board (KPP vs KP, KRR vs KQ, K vs KQQQ. etc.) The cool thin about them is that in the middlegame the chess program doesn`t have to search until it finds a mate - it just has to saerch until it finds a five piece configuration that it nervously knows is a systematically win. Alas, the tablebases are very large. ---------
Nature is trying very hard to make us succeed, but nature does not depend on us. We are not the only experiment.
