Re:Cheating with computers - 2007/12/11 08:10 the problem really with that if youre playin correspondence chess is that its very difficult to prove he use computer software against you...let say he use the databse in the ist 12 move which that is allowed in correspondence chess and play it out in the next 4 move....17 and 18th move look murky and he let fritz analyze it and choose the move that would give him adcvantage......he did move the idea fritz give him and sense havin the upper hand in the game in the next few moves and decided hell do it alone with out the aid of fritz since he could handle the position with the advantage of fritz idea that he used in cheating during that crucial past 2 move...remeber these peiople using fritz and other chess aid have general idea of proper chess principle....the act of havin fritz alone is an act of tryin to improve youreself in these game only some use software in cheatin...try to play gameknots.com blitz and you well see some 2000 elo strentgh player as soft as a tissue in blitz....there defense is that blitz is different from long game...so tell me how can you prove they cheat? no way to prove it dude...better buy zappa and use it against his fritz...thats the way to beat a cheater

Re:Cheating with computers - 2008/04/21 17:24 it depends on your opponent skills. A post-mortem analysis using Fritz or another software can be useful. If there is not even minor errors or blunders, and if the elo rate of your opponent is 1300 or below, then you can be sure of a cheat.

And of course don't forget to save every game you play, and keep a list of potential cheaters to avoid them.
