Generating Endgame Tablebases - 2008/08/28 17:40 Hello this is my first post...

I have began to generate tablebases with my own program.
I understand the basic algortihm (retrograde analysis) and now I would like to know some tips and tricks to:
- speed up the generation process
- compression techniques
- other tips

Thanks

Generating Endgame Tablebases - 2008/08/28 18:57 Hi EricLang, welcome to the forum

I am sure one of the (very nice) members here will come to your rescue soon - and advise you. Unfortunately I cannot do so since I am not that far advanced myself, but I am lucky to be learning from this forum more and more each time. I hope you will as well

Re:Generating Endgame Tablebases - 2008/08/31 15:37 I can't understand the "unique triangle" compression.
I use a 4x4 quadrant compression, which i do understand.
Another thing is compression: i am not able to compress as good as the Nalimov tables, although I use a good compression algorithm

Re:Generating Endgame Tablebases - 2008/09/04 13:30 For comparison, you can check out my program which creates endgame tablebases and lets you play against them. Get it at http://matemonster.net if you want.

Happy programming!
