Today's dedicated chess computers (2009) - 2009/06/15 12:22
Hi,
Next year, we will be about 20 years away from the 90's, the golden age of dedicated chess computers. Today dedicated machines are expensive, and there is not very much choice... eBay is a good solution, but set of pieces are incomplete or hardware need to be repaired.
I own a Yeno 416 XL chess computer, wich is still very nice to use, but it's getting old and the plastic of chessmen goes away. I thought about buying a mini-set of wooden chessmen to play more confortably, but magnetize them and playing on a 20x20cm square is just not reasonnable.
I'm searching for a brand dedicated chess computer, not too expensive, not too strong for an occasionnal player, confortable to play with nice dimensions, and if possible with training features. Wooden chessmen would be very nice too !
It's a very long list of criterias, but they do not need to all be fulfilled. Every piece of advice will be a great help for me !
PS: sorry for my english, it's quite rusty
