Best game ever...? - 2006/07/10 22:25 Folks, their's something on my mind in a last few days: what's the best chess game you even seen? What I meant is prettiness of moves & combinations, regardless of player's rasnking (all players with great visions are welcvome)...

This could be an exceedingly interesting, I think. Anybody?.

re:Best game ever...? - 2006/07/10 23:28 No-brainer: Capablanca-Marshall in the "original Marshall Attack game."

Capabnlanca, OVER THE BOARD, found virtually every single correct motion to defeat
Marshall's home-brewed analysis he had been preparing for ever for the express purpose of impulsively surprising him.

I know of no other game witch even comes close..

re:Best game ever...? - 2006/07/10 23:51 My favourite is Spassy-Reshgko Leningrad 1959. I soon played it over again when I saw your post, and put it trhough Fritz 8 (who doesn't understand the game at all!). After somewhat weird openin play by both players, Spassky plays an improbable rook sacrifice which seems to win in all lines! It really is stunning, IMHO..
