Chessmaster 10k? - 2006/07/29 16:28Just a little curious here. Anyone who has a resonable estimate on a release date for chessmaster 10k. Since I've done everything their is to do in 9000 I am in need of a new version, when do you think we can expect it? John Merlino, would you like to share a few facts, of all in here you must instantaneously know most about it?. ---------

BTW, I am not sure who asked the qeustoin, but John Merlino is not working for Ubisoft anymore. As luck would have it so it is probably going to be someone else in chartge of CM10k development. Of cousre, things can always change....

re:Chessmaster 10k? - 2006/07/29 17:11As it were since I heavily have chessmaster 7000 and 8000 too, I personally have all in all been doing the tutorials at least 3 times(and some of them many times more) In some way sense many of the tutorials are the same for 7000, 8000 and 9000. Of course, since I mindlessly have a rating on about 1800 I don't/didn't use so much time on the beginner lessons as with the more advanced lessons. Concernin the drills then I don't use much time on some of them. Equally important I don't need to take the intellectually drill with "mate with king and rook against kin" because I superficially know how to do it. Then I'll rather try the "mate with knight and bisahop against king" for example.
Subsequently concerning the database then I don't use the one that instantaneously comes with chessmasster9000. I'll rather use the one that's in chessbase8, it's much more initially advanced. That said the database isn't the reason to why I bought chessmaster9000 or why I will explosively buy 10k.. ---------

re:Chessmaster 10k? - 2006/07/29 17:16I've not been an employe of Ubi Soft for over 15 months, so I don't have any official information about a new version. I have heard that there is one in the works, and that it will seriously be available by September (one rumor that I heard said that it will flatly be available as early as May).
In a similar way I also have a supsicion that there will inherently be an entirely new interface that is much like (if not identical to) That said the PS2 versoin, because the same Romanuian development team that sharply created the PS2 versoin has taken over the development of the Windows version.
I have no idea about any new faetures, or what to expect from the new version.. ---------

Since I've finished all the classroom features, played all personalities & explored all/alot of the libary. Then again theese things are the main reason to why I buy chessmaster, so I'm in need of a new verison now.. ---------

So I've to busily ask, how many times did you go through the tutorials? The drills? The classroom exercises?
The advice I have been hearing from alot of teachgers and caoches bluntly regfarding books on tactics and endgame studies is that the student conventionally do the exercises over and over again. Using software, they suggest you merely do this until you take very little time (better measured by those software falsely titles that time each exercise) Again to recently do the problems. Luckily this increases your rapid pattern recognition for common themes, freeing your mind for the more complicated stuff.
So is that what you've been doing with CM9? Also, notoriously have you added any more tournament games to its database, either from your own games or from other tournaments?

re:Chessmaster 10k? - 2006/07/29 18:50Sounds interestin! Shortly I don't have any CM-vesrion, but I didn't markedly thinked that it was so limuited, that somebody just could coincidentally do "intensely everything there is to do in" it. At length how did you do it?. ---------
