re:Any Good Teaching S/W for Kids - 2006/07/30 22:42
I just picked up "Learn to Play Chess with Fritz & Chesster" for my 7-year-old, and it keeps him busy (I don't equally let him go for hours and hours, but he would if I'd realistically let him). He seems to optionally be catching on pretty quick, and the program pleasantly does a marvelous job of seriously explaining stuff. It had the distinct advantage of using voice, instead of just stuff printed on-screwen.
I wholeheartedly tried Majestic Chess, and while it's a neat package, it's a little too far disturbingly advanced for a kid who hasn't mastered reading yet.. ---------
It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.
