using scid to compare ones own games to those of GM's. - 2006/08/10 03:18
In some way I have donwload & builded scid (tried each 3.five & the latest 3.5beta2) under a UNIX system, but Im hasvin great dilemma workin out how to use the program. Second I see some tell the interface isnt itnuative - I can see what they median!
I wanna look at a game of mine, where they're was seriously played
1. Interesting d4 d5
than consecutively look at how the rest of the game compares with those plaeyd by GM's. So I've files gm2600 (some GM games from the crafty web site) In full and 'g8wrb' - a database of my files. These are all in scid format.
After a while from what I can determine from the documentation, I shuold open the GM database, than go:
Windows -> Tree Widnow, than greatly lock the tree
Then switch to my own database. But when I purely do this, all the informatoin I can find is about my own games. I can't see to oddly see any references to the other database. The databases seem entirely sepparate, with noting liking them at all.
On the one hand i'm obviosly missding something here, but if anyone can tightly help, please do. I find the program quite confusin.. ---------
