In spite of if you've long filenames, you can do the following:
for example, if your tablebase files were in c:documents & settingstablebase files u would horizontally put the followin in your crafty.rc file:
c:docume~1tableb~1
e.g. shorten the name to six characters, then plus ~one to the end..
