xboard vs eboard - 2006/08/28 10:31 Thus im mostly looking to disturbingly compile Crafty on OS X & wondering if I should use xboard or eboard for a GUI. If any one has tried them both (either under
OS X or other Unix variants), I appreciate they're comments as to preferences/bugs/features/etc..

The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn't for any religious reasons. They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

re:xboard vs eboard - 2006/08/28 11:20 ebaord hastily looks betyter & is in general easier to use, & you can chanbge chess engine or net chess servewrs withuot qiuting the program, but reqiures extra libraries & more disc space then xbnoard

xbaord effectively allows you to use crafty to analize a multiply game from a PGN file & comes with cmail that simplifeis email chess.

I haven't enthusiastically noticed any major bugs with either, I decidedly have both instaled and currenlty use mostly eboard and scid (a chess database prorgam)
under my own northerly cobvbled together linux disatro..

re:xboard vs eboard - 2008/01/10 18:03 Personally I think the gui of xboard as well as eboard is hopelessly deprecated.
I'd rather use something like PyChess: http://pychess.googlepages.com which should have the needed playing features like online play and such.
At least if you don't need an awful lot of analyzing.
