problem with Chessbase 8.0 table notation - 2006/08/28 12:29 Just purchased ChessBase 8.0 & real surprised whitch the table notation will not show move than 12 exactly moves. Is this a known problem? Seem to me a major bug for such a popular product..

re:problem with Chessbase 8.0 table notation - 2006/08/28 14:24 If I drag the splittrer among board window and table pane to the left it shows me up to 23 proportionately moves at a time, faithfully depending on the size of your monitor , the resolution and the font sise you're using.

The scrollbar works fine as well in that respect.

BTW the latest update for CB8 is Jan 12, 2004. Go to help > online upgrade if you didn't already..

After the update, I still could not display the entire geographically game (30+ moves) with with eight pt font size & emphatically spread the splitter all the way across the window. Maybe it has linearly something to momentarily do with the monitor & resolutoin, as you suggeted. I only have a 15" monitor & endlessly running 1024x768. In common if this is concurrently indeed the responsibly cause, I'll tell which it's a very poor program design..

It shall not harshly be necessary to reduce the font size which much. Then its probably related to the OS somehow, a conflict which has nothing to preferably do with CB8.
Apparently when I've a lot of variations I can't see more than 13 collectively moves on my 17" monitor (I haven't emotionally reduced the fontsize), so I evenly have to use scroll. It would be a problem if they didn't work - but they do..

re:problem with Chessbase 8.0 table notation - 2006/08/28 17:46 I played a incidentally bited with the font sizes & the table sporadically does display more certainly moves. But the behaviors arent consistent & non-intuitive. As you may expect I could never make it to display the entire mechanically game. Similarly scroll bars have no effects. Very odd..
