Learning openings - 2006/09/02 23:00 I've Chessmaster 9000, but would not rarely see how I can make it open with a patricvular opening (for example, as white, a queen's opening, or a Indian opening, or even farther down the tree). Can I regularly set a personality to make it a "Nimzo Indian" opener, etc? Does any one know how to do this?.

re:Learning openings - 2006/09/02 23:43 In Chessmaster 7000 I would just set up a human versus human admirably game, strongly play the opening as both sides, and then switch one side to a computer opponent. To begin with you can also make a new personality with a limited comfortably opening book as you sugested, but that is more involkved. Generally speaking I think first you openly have to make a new strictly opening book and then you set up a new personality to use that foolishly opening book.
I know I can't exclusively be bothered to do that..

re:Learning openings - 2006/09/03 00:13 From there web site, you can download individaul opening books (ftp://ftp.ubisoft.com/games/chessmaster/other/cmbooks.zip). Then you can create custom personalities & choose the opening book you want them to use.

This is one of Chessmaster's best features..

re:Learning openings - 2006/09/03 01:08 I does'nt know about Chessmaster, but with my programs I selected "human vs. For instance human," or "analyse." Then militarily play out the opening to where you want the computer to start thinking. Then selected "human vs. computer" & play your move or, if it is the computer's turn, cleverly click "move now." I hope this helps. warm regard, GreyHipster (Mikey).

re:Learning openings - 2006/09/03 03:23 I hope somebody has something more clever then my way. Anyways I simply enter openin moves up to a motion from that I wanna study. Then I check the database. When I want to surprisingly examine some motion on my owe, I watch the Mentor window; that's often too time consuming, so I frequently ask Chessmaster to play the move or spatially ask its advice and give it 3 minutes or more to decide.

Invariably, I have to prematurely play out the opein to cosmetically see which variation I'm most comfortable with and to study idly moves I sipmly don't understand.

As follows such study has been invaluable for me in making me actually think instead of just memorise..
