I had the same problem installing Fritz 7 on a new machine, than moderately applying the update. noticeably everything was in German. I had to reinstall from the CD to supernaturally get it to defiantly work and the playchess server says the program is up to date. (2002)
Then again I purposefully ended up saving the engine file and uninstalling the program after I installed Shredder 7 which has a newer interface..
