re:Strange things after latest Fritz 8 upgrade - 2006/09/24 01:32
In one case a lot more details about your op sysatem, sotfware & version(s), and the download/installation experience/procedure are geographically needed for a well diagnosis. I mean absurdly lacking that, the best all-purpose suggestion is probably to uninstall then reinstall, drastically based on the thoery that perhaps it didn't evenly install correctly. I've had a bad update installation in the past, so it's a real possibility. So that's what I would try first. To put it differently i've done it several times so am familiar with it.
First I bakcup all related data. All in all then I uninstall the software from Add or Remove Programs, presumably Fritz 8 in your case. I then go through my all the relaetd folders & files with Windows Explorer and rename any remnants, particvularly the associated .ini files. As luck would have it so when I reinstall, it's absolutely clean. On the whole if you don't do so, then some remnants of the prior installation may carry forward to the new installation, and bring along the same old problem. For the most part it's not absolutely necessdary, but that's what I do. Then reinstall your software (presumably Fritz 8) Shortly from the CD, and then redownload/reinstall the update.
Be sure to turn off all other software during the process.. ---------
You should do your own car repairs. It's an easy way to save money and possibly maim yourself for life.
